Privacy policy
How this website handles personal data, as Art. 13 GDPR requires. The German version is the legal text.
Who is responsible
The controller under Art. 4 (7) GDPR is Liviu Ionesi Solutions, owner Liviu Ionesi, Freiwaldaustr. 39, 73230 Kirchheim unter Teck, Germany. Email: contact@brevier.dev.
Hosting and server logs
This website runs on Vercel (Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA). Each time you open a page, the Vercel server records your IP address, the date and time, the page you asked for and your browser type. This is needed to deliver the page and to keep it secure. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR: our interest in a working and secure website. We use these data for nothing else.
Transfer to the USA
Vercel is based in the USA. It is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, so the transfer rests on the adequacy decision of the European Commission (Art. 45 GDPR). Vercel processes the data on our behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).
Cookies and local storage
This website sets no cookies. It uses no advertising and no tracking across websites. Its visitor statistics are in the next section. If you press the light/dark button, your browser saves your choice under the key theme in its local storage. The value stays on your device and is never sent to a server. It is saved only because you asked for it, so no consent is needed (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG).
Visitor statistics
We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics. When you open a page, your browser loads a small script from this website's own address. The script sends Vercel the address of the page, the page you came from, your approximate location (country, region and city), your browser, your operating system and your device type (mobile, tablet or desktop). It sets no cookies and saves nothing on your device. The data are not tied to your name or your IP address. Vercel tells visitors apart by a hash made from the request, and discards it after 24 hours. We see only totals that cannot identify you. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR: our interest in knowing which pages are read, so that we can improve them. You may object at any time (Art. 21 GDPR): write to contact@brevier.dev. Vercel processes these data on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). The section on the transfer to the USA applies to them too.
Other websites
This website loads no fonts, scripts, images or other content from other sites. A link to GitHub or PyPI only connects you to that site when you click it. Its own privacy policy applies from then on.
Contact by email
If you write to contact@brevier.dev, we process your email address and your message to answer you. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR when the message is about a contract or a purchase, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. We delete the message when the matter is closed, unless a law requires us to keep it. Business letters, for example, are kept for 6 years (§ 257 HGB).
Key request
If you request a key, we process your name, your email address, your company, the key you ask for, the number of servers and the time of the request. We use them to send you the key and to answer you. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR, because you ask for a step before a possible contract. We send a trial key to your email address in an automatic email. A request for a licence reaches our inbox as an email. Both emails go through the email service Resend (Resend, Inc., USA), which processes your data on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). We also save the data in a register, as the next section says.
Key register and IP address
Each key we issue gets one row in a register. The row holds your name, email address, company, the key type, the time of issue, the end date of the key and the number of servers (for a licence). It also holds your IP address and the domain of your email address. The register is a database at Neon (Neon, Inc., USA), which processes the data on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). We use the IP address only to prevent abuse. Before we send a trial key, we check whether the same email address, IP address or email domain already had one. Each may have one trial. The legal basis for the IP address is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR: our interest in stopping repeated free trials. We delete the IP address 12 months after we issued the key. We keep the other data as long as our business records require (for a licence, § 257 HGB). You may object to the use of your IP address at any time (Art. 21 GDPR).
Your rights
You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You may object at any time to processing based on Art. 6 (1) (f) (Art. 21). To use a right, write to contact@brevier.dev.
Complaints
You may complain to a data protection authority. For us this is: Der Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg, Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany.
